Pika Card is the first and largest loyalty program in Slovenia through which cash back, savings, and many other benefits are obtained in all Mercator retail outlets and also at other partners.
With Mercator switching to a new provider of card transaction processing services – mStart d.o.o. – it was necessary to enable the use of Pika cards on the new infrastructure and thus on EFT POS terminals as well. In addition to our payment application, it was necessary to develop a Pika application on Ingenico terminals. It was a demanding project due to extremely complex specifications. It was necessary to support Pika magnetic, Pika contact (GemClub memo), Pika contactless Mifare, and Pika contactless Mobile cards. The project was finished on time and successfully.
Several years later, we received a request to implement the business rules of the Pika application from the Telium platform (Ingenico terminals) into an application for the Android Pax platform and integrate it with the mStart payment application for the Android platform so that it supports all cards that are supported on Ingenico terminals. That project was also completed on time to the user’s satisfaction.
